1-National Cheese Festival in Spain.
More than 100,000 food-fans are expected to flock to the historic main square of Trujillo in Spain from 29 April-2 May 2017 for a cheese-fest. Visitors will be able to sample over 500 different flavours and dine in one of the square’s six restaurants, which will be serving up traditional dishes starring the festival’s star – queso – and other regional delicacies. Delicioso!
2-The Vienna Festival (12-17 May)
Offers five weeks of dance, music, theatre, and visual arts. It offers a modern and multilingual program that covers everything from the classics to the avant-garde. The opening of the Wiener Festwochen is an open-air event with free admission held in the square in front of Vienna’s City Hall. Simply everything for every taste!
3- Byron Bay Bluesfest
Another phenomenal Music Event is Byron Bay Bluesfest from 3-17 April, 2017. The Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm hosts the annual Bluesfest music festival, where the list of performers speaks itself. The full list is shown in the image below. Oh, man! Our hearts long for Blues!
4- Hullabaloo
How about laughing? A good laugh is truly the thing!The Comedy Hullabaloo is making a return to Shakespeare’s birthplace of Stratford-Upon-Avon from 21 -25 May where many comedians will be vying for the last laugh. The festival features multiple shows per day, with big-name comedians in the lineup alongside emerging acts.
5- Lost and Found Festival
Lost and Found Festival from 13-16 April. Veteran DJ Annie Mac takes her ‘Presents’ series to another level with a four-day festival on Malta. As well as top-notch DJs, the festival makes the most of its island location with castle raves, boat parties and pool parties to get your summer started early.
6- Spin London
Let’s spice up our list with Spin London (12-17 May), the UK’s first urban cycling show and festival, debuted in 2013. There will be talks, screenings, music and food. Those looking to buy, build or merely browse bicycles by some of the leading designers (think tokyobike, Bicycle Taxidermy and Ally Capellino) will be overwhelmed with the array of two-wheelers on show.
7-Join Ballymaloe Litfest of Food & Wine
Some Irish charm? Join Ballymaloe Litfest of Food & Wine (19-21 May, 2017) in Ireland. A stuffed larder of the most influential chefs and writers debating, discussing and demonstrating in County Cork. It is the only festival of its kind in Ireland and has created an important hub for food and drinks enthusiasts worldwide to meet and share ideas with each other.
8-Frieze Art Fair
Let’s add more artistic touch to our list! Contemporary Art at its finest during Frieze Art Fair which takes place in New York from 5-7 May. This is a highlight of the year for the culturally minded; Frieze Art Fair showcases more that 1,000 contemporary artists. Breathtaking!
9- Brighton Festival
We should definitely mention another Art Event – Brighton Festival from 6-28 May. It is an annual celebration of music, theatre, dance, circus, art, film, literature, debate, outdoor and family events – taking place in venues both familiar and unusual across Brighton & Hove for three weeks every May. Just imagine how amazing it is!
